POSITION: Bilingual Outpatient Substance Abuse Therapist (Posted May 12, 2014)

Description:  This position is responsible for carrying out clinical duties in an ethical, culturally and empirically informed manner. This includes conducting screening and triage assessments, performing psychosocial and diagnostic assessments, developing effective treatment plans, providing brief case management as well as ongoing brief and/or long-term psychotherapy. The Bilingual Outpatient Substance Abuse Therapist will report to the Clinical Director. In summary, the Bilingual Outpatient Therapist works to accomplish El Futuro’s mission to provide excellent mental health and substance abuse services to Latinos in North Carolina.  We are seeking someone who is very committed to working with the Latino community in North Carolina, who is reliable and punctual, with excellent clinical skills. Experience in evaluation and psychotherapy with dually diagnosed individuals is highly valued. A strong ability to problem solve independently is essential to this position. Strong organizational skills and ability to turn in timely documentation are required.

Requirements:  To perform this job successfully an individual must have licensure in the addiction field (LCAS or be eligible for LCAS in North Carolina) and preferably a master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology or related field. The candidate must be fully or provisionally licensed in the state of North Carolina, and must have a minimum of 2 years experience working with diverse populations. Familiarity with the Latin American immigrant community and spoken Spanish are required.

Salary range: $41,000-$50,000; Commensurate with experience and licensure.

POSITION: Outpatient Bilingual Therapist

Description: El Futuro is seeking an outpatient bilingual therapist. This is an opportunity to join an energetic, creative and multidisciplinary team who provides excellent behavioral health care to Latinos in North Carolina. Responsibilities for this position include working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to provide ongoing evidence-base and culturally informed psychotherapy to children, families, and adults (ages 0-100). Experience working with children is preferred. Clinical work is office-based, with a minimum of one evening required. El Futuro is a multi-site clinic with offices located in the following areas: Durham, Carrboro, and Siler City. The weekly billable hours expected are 25 hours. Therapist will create and maintain positive relationships with social service providers and community leaders. Work collaboratively with partner agencies. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of clinical services. Contribute to clinical team knowledge base of emerging best practices for client population. Play an active role in the continued development of El Futuro’s work and help increase our recognition.

Requirements:  We are seeking someone who is an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT. Must be licensed or provisionally licensed in North Carolina. Degree must be from an accredited school. Must have excellent assessment, risk-assessment, and crisis intervention skills. Clinical experience with both children and adults. Minimum of 2 years psychotherapy experience working in cross-cultural setting. Demonstrate enthusiasm about working as part of an interdisciplinary team. Commitment to provision of culturally informed services. Flexibility about developing role within non-profit behavioral health agency. Excellent computer skills. Excellent spoken and written Spanish and English — must be able to read and communicate with clients in written Spanish, and must be able to document clinical encounters in English. A strong candidate will also have extensive knowledge of area resources. Bicultural and bilingual applicants preferred. Formal training and experience using one more of the following trauma interventions is highly desired: EMDR, DBT, IPT, Movement Therapy, Family Systems Theoretical background, PCIT and/or Child-parent Psychotherapy.

POSITION: Administrative Assistant/Clinic Receptionist

Description: We are currently in need of a Full-Time Clinic Receptionist / Administrative Assistant at our Durham clinic.  The position is a full-time permanent position for 37.5 hours/week from Mondays to Fridays 9-5pm.  The Clinical Assistant/Receptionist provides administrative support to the entire El Futuro office. Assists with office clerical job responsibilities (Filing, copying and scanning of medical charts/documentation).  Checks in all patients arriving for appointments and verifies daily schedule for pending appointments.  Schedules patient appointments using a computerized patient scheduling system. Obtains, updates/verifies registration information for all patients, including patient demographic, pay source and insurance coverage information.  Serves as first point of contact for El Futuro’s main phone system by answering all incoming telephone calls; obtaining all information necessary to appropriately transfer call to the appropriate department; taking complete and accurate messages for all calls which are not or cannot be transferred.  Maintains general knowledge of insurance plans accepted at El Futuro.  Collects co-pays and small patient balances at time of arrival.  Reconcile the daily deposits at the clinic.  Retrieves and tracks faxes. Performs computer data entry in registration, scheduling and other programs as assigned.  Maintains appearance of waiting area and office equipment.

Requirements:  We are seeking someone who is very committed to working with the Latino community in North Carolina and open to the challenges of working in a not-for-profit organization.  Ideal candidate is motivated, reliable, positive and punctual, with excellent people skills.  Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a team-setting environment are required.  Spoken Spanish Fluency is required.   A strong candidate will also have: experience using electronic health records system, experience in healthcare setting (ideally in mental health & substance abuse environments).  Demonstrated computer skills and standard Ms Office Suite proficiency a must
