ADHD Coach and Engagement Specialist

El Futuro is currently hiring a full-time ADHD Coach and Engagement Specialist. This position provides coaching to students and parents to develop ADHD specific support plans and supports El Futuro’s goal to create a more dedicated treatment pathway for those who have or might have ADHD, develop resources, ensure delivery of the El FARO class, and represent El Futuro in speaking engagements about the ADHD program to promote greater community health and engagement.

Key Functions: The ADHD Coach and Engagement Specialist performs a wide range of functions including, but not limited to the following:

Core Coaching Activities
Meet with student and parent(s) to develop an ADHD specific support plan.
According to the plan, meet periodically with the student and parent to review progress and set goals.
Coaching with students will focus on:
Strategies to address executive skill deficits
Individual and/or group sessions
Coaching with parents will focus on:
Empowerment of parents to secure the appropriate level of support within the school
Facilitating parent connection to appropriate community resources
Development of a family technology use plan
Co-facilitate El Faro classes for parents:
Assist with delivery of the El FARO class 5-6 times per year. Either support or co-facilitate.
Contact clients by phone and text to promote attendance; this activity will also be supported by the Groups program manager
Coordinate work with volunteers who can extend efforts to boost engagement

ADHD Program Support and Implementation
Contribute generally to the growth and maintenance of the program.
Participate in the development of a dedicated ADHD treatment program at El Futuro using strategies developed by El Futuro and employing a team-based and diagnosis specific approach.
Meet regularly with and work in conjunction with the growing ADHD Program Team.
Help develop resources like handouts, updated workbook (Cuaderno), videos, podcasts, infographics to support the program
Help with data collection and reporting for the ADHD program.
Support client involvement and voice in the development and delivery of the ADHD program
Communications and Collaborations:
Represent El Futuro in speaking engagements about the ADHD Program to promote visibility and help with recruitment & growth.
Meet regularly with community partner representatives to ensure efficient and coordinated delivery of the ADHD Program and to promote continued collaboration for growth of the program so that it has an increasing impact.
Collaboration with schools and other programs that can support individuals with ADHD such as mentoring programs

Engagement:
Recruitment and case finding of students with ADHD who are in need of services
Contribute to strategic planning for improved client engagement
Support outreach and engagement activities of clients before, during and after services

General Responsibilities of El Futuro Staff:
Participate in meetings and organizational related activities as directed by the supervisor, which may include All Staff Meeting, Individual Supervision, participation on a committee, or other activities.
Play an active role in the continued development of El Futuro’s work via participation in fundraising and other agency-wide activities.
Engage in learning opportunities through “La Mesita”, El Futuro’s training platform and network of bilingual providers in North Carolina, or through other appropriate career development opportunities.
Be a team player who is ready to support other duties as assigned, in consultation with your supervisor and priority tasks.

Qualifications and Expectations:
Proven capacity to engage with the Latino community and the community at large.
Knowledge base of school supports and community resources
Fluency in spoken and written Spanish, required. Must be able to document interactions with clients in English.
Demonstrated computer skills and proficiency with Google Workspace.
Ability to work two evenings per week.
Participate in continuing education to develop skills (ie. Hill Center workshops)
Strong interpersonal skills including demonstrated ability to connect with a wide range of audiences: Latino community members, other service organizations, school staff, and El Futuro staff and board.
Capacity for independent decision making within established procedures and protocols.
Ability to think strategically, consider the potential impact of programmatic decisions, and respond to diverse programmatic needs.
Ability to effectively communicate with colleagues, leaders, and funders regarding program goals and outcomes.
Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to self-monitor program deliverables and outcomes.
Demonstrated enthusiasm about working as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Flexibility, creativity, and a spirit of collaboration.
