Bilingual Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor

El Futuro is currently hiring a contract Bilingual Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. This position provides group treatment to clients and helps them in their path to recovery. Works under guidance from with our Substance Use Treatment Program Lead to track and document progress of clients. Prepares Group Treatment sessions, facilitates sessions and documents in a timely manner following best practices.

This is an Independent Contractor position and will start by facilitating 2 groups per week from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, expect to spend an hour preparing for each session and an hour post-session to write notes. The position pays $10.00 per participant per session.

Key Functions:

The Bilingual Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor performs a wide range of functions including, but not limited to the following:

Facilitate Substance Use Groups two evenings per week: Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday from 6-8pm through telehealth (telehealth offering may change to in-person depending on State mandates)
Track attendance and progress of clients
Write timely notes for clients participation in groups
Plan relevant content and adapt to the needs of participants attending
Works under supervision of our Program Lead to coordinate care of clients

Qualifications and Expectations:

Excellent spoken Spanish required, must be able to read and communicate with clients in written Spanish, must be able to document clinical encounters in English
Valid license to treat substance use disorders in the state of North Carolina required Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC Intern or CADC)
One to two years experience in facilitating group therapy in Spanish preferred
Two years of work experience as substance use counselor preferred
One year of experience providing DWI Group Treatment preferred
Strong communication skills and comfort interacting with a diverse array of people
Ability to maintain professional boundaries and protect client confidentiality when working in close collaboration with other agencies in the field
Comfortable with technology, Zoom, Google Chrome
Familiarity with State regulations of North Carolina, regarding DWI process
