Grant Development Manager

El Futuro is currently hiring a full-time Grants Development Manager to serve as the lead grant writer for a portfolio of 20-25 continuation grant proposals, as a prospect researcher for new opportunities, and who will coordinate the planning, implementation, and reporting of all grant activities. The position will be supported by and work closely with the Director of Advancement & Strategy.

This position will work in close tandem with the Director of Advancement & Strategy to effectively solicit, manage, and steward grant and contract funders at El Futuro, with some fundraising duties as well. While the position will be responsible for managing the overall grants calendar and helping to coordinate all applications and reports, the Manager will serve as the lead on a smaller portfolio of continuation / legacy grants, with close collaboration with and support from the Director.

We are seeking an early- to mid-career professional who is passionate about our work with the Latino community in North Carolina, who has two – five years experience in grant writing and fundraising, and who desires to grow their nonprofit management expertise.

Currently, El Futuro is providing all services virtually. This position will begin as a 100% remote position with a somewhat flexible work schedule, with some required weekly on-site meetings in the future (including Fridays 9:00-11:00). A local candidate is preferred.

Job Responsibilities:
Manage grants calendar and activities in a collaborative Trello environment.
Coordinate, compile, and submit applications.
Organize and manage standard attachments for grant proposals and reports.
Write continuation/legacy grant proposals and reports from beginning to end, in collaboration with the Director of Advancement and Strategy and appropriate program staff. (The Manager will be the lead on a portfolio of 20-25 grants that fit this description.)
Research new grant / contract opportunities, organize prospect findings and priorities, and recommend new opportunities to the Director of Advancement & Strategy.
Support development of new and larger grant opportunities as requested (with the Director of Advancement & Strategy serving as the lead on these opportunities).
Maintain effective records of grant & contract opportunities & commitments.
Provide occasional support to individual / corporate fundraising efforts as requested and allowed by the grants calendar.

General Responsibilities of El Futuro Staff:
Participate actively in monthly All Staff Meetings.
Play an active role in the continued development of El Futuro’s work via participation in fundraising and other agency-wide activities.
Be a team player who is ready to support other duties as assigned, in consultation with your supervisor and priority tasks.

Qualifications
Excellent customer service skills.
Minimum of two years experience in grant writing or similar writing field.
Knowledge of proposal submission and fundraising process.
Ability to study and understand programs and funding requirements.
Strong research skills and knowledge of funder information sources.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office, Google Apps, Document Management, Adobe Acrobat, and must be comfortable with technology.
Have a high-level of organization, prioritization, communication, and listening skills.
Contribute to building a positive working environment; support everyone’s efforts to succeed with a high sense of urgency, drive, and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.
Ability to handle confidential matters with the utmost integrity and a high level of discretion about confidential information, ethical and trustworthy.
Focus on solving problems and working in a team environment.
Bilingual in Spanish and English, both written and verbal communication, preferred.
