Carolina Quijada
Community Mental Health Worker
Carolina is Venezuelan. She is a doctor and mother of 3 children. When she studied medicine, she remembers that she was taught to serve the people who needed it most. For this reason, throughout her university career, she focused on fulfilling her learning in Community Work. Carolina came to the US in 2020 due to the difficult political situation in her native country, without much help, many memories, knowledge, and experiences but above all with a lot of hope and resilience to start a new life with better opportunities. She learned about El Futuro by luck, her experience as a doctor and her knowledge served as a letter of introduction, in addition to her vocation to help others achieve mental and physical healing. “Thanks to El Futuro I am exercising the values that I have always practiced and I am proud and satisfied to work for and by Hispanics in an organization with principles and values that represent my values and those of our Hispanic cultures.”
