Elizabeth is Associate General Counsel at Duke University and Duke University Health System. Her role is to advise on employment and labor law. Elizabeth moved from Texas to North Carolina in 2023 to work at Duke. During her time in Texas, Elizabeth volunteered with several nonprofit organizations. She was a Board Member and treasurer of the Dallas Hispanic Law Foundation, and participated in the Dallas Hispanic Bar Association’s Latina Leadership Program, and the Diversity Pipeline Attorney Program (DAPP), a career-readiness and job placement program for diverse law students. Elizabeth was also a board member for the Assistance Center of Collin County, a nonprofit that provides emergency assistance with rent, utilities, goods and clothing for families.
Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism and advertising from the University of Texas at Austin and a doctor of jurisprudence from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio.
