Angie Mejía

Angie was born in La Ceiba, Honduras, and moved to Durham, NC when she was 4 years old. Angie went to Saint Augustine’s University for her undergrad and received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in December of 2019. Over the past 8 years, she has worked with youth on bringing awareness to health and wellness topics that affect their daily life. She also worked as a community health worker where she enjoyed her time getting to connect with different community members and leaders. Angie started as a volunteer at El Futuro in June 2021 in the green space and she is excited to continue being part of the El Futuro familia in a new role. She enjoys spending time with her dog Max, nature walks, and trying new food places. Her favorite book is The Dark Artifices by Cassandra Clare and she loves the song “Bendita Tu Luz” by Maná.
