Elizabeth Cordero
Psychiatry Assistant
She was born and raised in NYC. Her parents are from the Dominican Republic. Being from NY she has always been surrounded by so many different cultures. I left the city and moved to Upstate NY (Lockport and Buffalo) to start a family with her life partner. They have 3 girls. Elizabeth graduated from Bryant and Stratton College with a dual degree, Medical Assistant and Billing and Coding. She moved to Raleigh in 2017 to get away from the Western New York winter storms. Becoming a medical assistant 15 years ago was a great decision for her. She has worked in hospital settings, primary care doctor’s office, Urgent Care, Pediatry, and most recently Infectious Disease. She enjoyed being a Medical Assistant and learned so much, but she was looking for a change, so she decided to go back to school and get her bachelor’s degree in social work at Walden University. Working as an MA for 15 years she’s seen the Spanish community fall thru the cracks at times due to the language barrier. She knows first-hand what her family has endured due to the language barrier so to work for an organization that focuses on the Spanish community, feels amazing.
