Josue Morales

Walk-in Clinic Assistant

Josue is a first generation Mexican-American who grew up on the Western side of North Carolina, in a small town called Cahiers. He attended Southwestern Community College where he would graduate with an Associates in Computer Science and an Associates in Culinary Arts. After graduating Josue pursued his passion for cooking and became a chef at a local restaurant in his home town. Josue decided to change his scenery one day and decided to move to Durham where within a year of living here he fell in love with the community. After talking with his hispanic co-workers he came to a realization that he wanted to help his local Latinx community with their mental health and provide a safe space for them to feel welcomed and accepted. Luckily while out shopping one day he came across El Futuro and curiosity led to him finding out that their goals lined up perfectly. From that moment on Josue knew that this is where he can accomplish his goal of serving his Latinx community here in Durham. During his free time Josue enjoys going out to explore new areas, reading, cooking, and spending time with brother.
