Lisa Colquhoun

Lead Grant Writer and Strategist

Originally from Arizona, Lisa grew up in Southern California and graduated with her bachelor’s degree in communications from California State University. She once dreamed of opening a homeless shelter near the Coachella Valley, which led her to pursue a master’s degree in management and leadership, but somewhere along the way she fell in love with grant writing. Over the past several years, she has had the privilege of working with national and community-based nonprofits, helping secure funding for programs that expand access to healthcare, food, and natural resources. She is so grateful to be joining El Futuro as someone who believes healing and mental health care should be accessible to everyone, regardless of background or income. She believes that everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported. Lisa lives in Raleigh with her wonderful daughter and four spoiled fur babies. When she’s not writing or dreaming up fundraising strategies, she’s probably experimenting with her Aerogardens, browsing local thrift shops, or trying new recipes.
