Soleir is a native of Venezuela. After completing her college education in Business Administration in Venezuela, she moved to the United States to attend the CELOP program at Boston University and then moved to North Carolina where she has lived since. She embarked upon a career in social work in 1999 when she began working at Catholic Charities as a family case manager with both Latino and English-speaking families to assess their needs. During her time at Catholic Charities, she also worked as a co-facilitator for 10 years at Change, which was a state-certified, psycho-educational intervention program that aided domestic violence offenders in changing their behaviors. After many years at Catholic Charities, she most recently worked at the Orange County Rape Crisis Center as the Latino Services Coordinator where she performed community outreach and led support groups for Spanish-speaking survivors of sexual violence. In her spare time, she host a radio show at WHUP 104.7 FM in Hillsborough, NC . This show delivers interviews with a wide variety of people, local and international news of interest, current community events as well as a significant variety of Latino music.
