Estefania Castro

Estefania was born in Veracruz, Mexico and immigrated to the U.S in 1997. She is a proud graduate of the public-school system and received dual degrees in Communication (BA) and Plant Biology (BS) from N.C. State University. Estefania was drawn to El Futuro because the work allows her to be in community with other Latinx immigrants while pushing to advance mental health access. Prior to joining El Futuro, she worked in domestic and sexual violence advocacy and is an ardent advocate for survivors and their families. Outside of work, Estefania likes running, solving word puzzles, taking long walks with her dog, Franny, gardening, and cooking with her husband.
