Fauzan Bustillo-Mancheno

Community Mental Health Worker

Fauzan was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, and immigrated to Durham, North Carolina, at the age of 14. He is passionate about expanding access to culturally responsive mental health care for the Latino community. Fauzan holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Computer Science from UNC Greensboro and has completed certifications in Mental Health First Aid and child abuse prevention through Ecuador Dice No Más’s GUARDIANES program. He brings experience in community outreach, interpretation, and advocacy, including co-facilitating Know Your Rights sessions with Latine immigrants, mentoring transfer students, and organizing mutual aid efforts for restaurant workers in Durham during the COVID-19 pandemic. He joined El Futuro to continue supporting local families. A proud nerd at heart, Fauzan enjoys comics, movies, animated shows, and anime. He loves traveling and trying food from around the world—especially if it’s spicy. He also loves learning about how technology can support mental health and make care more accessible.
