Rosa is Associate Professor at the Duke University School of Nursing and the Assistant Dean of the PhD Program. Her main roles as a faculty member include conducting research, teaching/mentoring, and service. Her research explores the intersection of substance abuse, violence, HIV, and mental health among Latinx communities and social drivers of these. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing focused on Public Health Nursing, Master in Public Health, and an interdisciplinary PhD (nursing, epidemiology, psychology). Throughout her career she has volunteered in many community-based organizations and initiatives, including many organizations specifically serving Latinx communities and organizations that address domestic violence.
